Rating activity becoming 'balanced'
Global structured finance (SF) rating activity was far more balanced in 2013, according to Fitch, with downgrades declining to pre-crisis levels and upgrades becoming more visible. Delinquencies plunge on CWCAM sales
US CMBS delinquencies plunged last month as CWCapital bulk asset sales were booked and new delinquencies fell to their lowest level in five and a half years, according to Fitch's latest index results for the sector. CMBS late-pays fell by 46bp in February to 5.43% from 5.89% a month earlier, while resolutions of US$2.2bn outpaced new additions to the index .......

MLCFC 2007-5 reports
Remittances have been released for a further two assets liquidated in the CWCapital bulk sale: the US$80m Resurgens Plaza Atlanta and US$13m Mars Powerline loans securitised in the MLCFC 2007-5 CMBS. The former was liquidated below its most recent appraisal, while the latter sold slightly above appraisal.

GG10 resolutions support spreads
GSMS 2007-GG10 AM spreads moved tighter yesterday, following the resolution of US$583m of specially-serviced loans and a subsequent reduction in cashflow timing uncertainty (SCI 13 March). Elsewhere in the secondary US CMBS market, generic spreads were mostly unchanged and BWIC volume remained steady at around US$374m, according to Interactive Data figures.

Recovery in apartment prices underlined
Apartment prices have recovered to a greater extent than single-family prices post-crisis in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Washington DC, according to the latest Moody's/RCA CPPI report.

SF technology to proliferate in EM

Green bond index debuts
Solactive has launched the Solactive Green Bond Index, which is designed to provide exposure to green bonds. The index universe is composed of all bonds that are categorised as green bonds, according to the Climate Bonds Initiative.

Portugal's TD plan 'sustainable'
The government plan to reduce costs and increase revenue can make Portugal's electricity system sustainable and eliminate outstanding tariff deficits (TDs) in the next 10 years, Fitch suggests. Spain's ability to eliminate TDs remains considerably less certain, however.

The US SEC has charged Jefferies with failing to supervise employees on its MBS desk, who lied to customers about pricing.
