  • Agency accused of misleading investors

    Acting New Jersey Attorney General John Hoffman has filed a lawsuit against S&P charging that the company misled consumers about the independence and objectivity of its ratings. The suit also charges the rating agency with using outdated analytic models in order to maximise market share and profits.

    The UROPA Securities 2007-1 class A4B tranche has been redenominated from euro to sterling, with the underlying currency swap cancelled as a result.   • Card MPRs hit record high

    US credit card ABS monthly payment rates (MPRs) for September set a record high, reaching 26.27% in 3Q13, according to Fitch's latest quarterly index for the sector. This comes as charge-off and delinquency levels saw the fourth straight quarterly decline.

  • Minimal losses seen in Canadian CMBS

    Canadian CMBS exhibit a low rate of default, with only 71 of the nearly 3,700 securitised loans either delinquent and/or transferred to a special servicer. This represents a 1.9% cumulative default rate, according to a Fitch study of 70 transactions totalling C$25.4bn.

  • Tighter pricing expected for CAS

    Structural differences between Fannie Mae's upcoming CAS 2013-C01 and Freddie Mac's STACR deal should lead to tighter pricing on the former transaction. Based on a Deutsche Bank analysis, the Fannie senior mezzanine class could price 25bp-50bp inside the STACR M1 class.

    Moody's has published a consolidated cross-sector methodology report detailing its approach to assessing set-off risk for EMEA securitisation and covered bond transactions. The move follows the agency's request for feedback on its proposed approach (SCI 10 July).
